Stupid question but i dont know whether to spend £180 on the silverstone or £80 on the Define R2 case.

Iv just ordered a Gigabyte GA-P55A-UD5 P55 as a permanent replacement motherboard and iv pre ordered a 470GTX and hoping to get a 2nd one later on in the future.

If i get the Define R2 case ill get a 2nd 470GTX earlier but if i get the silverstone ill have to leave the 2nd card till later. But really im not fussed..

Both look good, both have good cooling and both cases can be fully watercooled. What would be the best future proof case?

Silverstone Fortress FT02B is a nice case I have one. its heavy with it full.

The one problem I have with it is the space behind the M/B tray to put all the cables. It needs more its tight. Lots of poeple have the same problem.

But once its done its fine.

i'm regretting getting the fractal r2, it looks great and has very good cable management but my cpu is 10c hotter under load than it was in my coolermaster stacker 831 :(

I am looking at these two cases for my next build also.

One thing to keep in mind is that the Define R2 only comes with 2 fans included so you may have to purchase from 2 to 5 additional quality fans to achieve the cooling you require, thus increasing the price substantially; because of this I am leaning towards the FT02B.

What i always say is if i have to spend money on a case to make it good. Just go for something expensive what is always going to be better. even if it is more than upgradeing another case.
I think im going towards the silverstone :(

I'd go with the ft02 over the r2 the space behind the tray is probably the same as my fortress it's tight for the 24pin psu lead but it does fit with a push.
Only a matter of time before we will see all in one gpu water cooling and triple rad cpu coolers though imo thus i suggested a 700d.

I wouldn't limit the choices to just two cases though have a look at some of the full tower lian li's.

Just realised the FT02 will be to long for my desk. and the 700/800D will be to high to fit in the hole where the pc would fit into.

Now my options are the R2 or the CM 692 II Advanced.

I really thought i had a long enough desk/high enough shelve to fit the FT02. I measured and i realsied if i bought it, it would be hanging of the desk about 10cm.

C64 - Dont hate me but i dont really like lian li cases. Well i love there build ( i have a lancool k62 ) but there price for what you get, it doesnt suit me. I would rather buy a 800D for £200 than a Lian Li PC-7FNWX for £184

my parents want to change the desk im sitting at in the future anyway. I might just wait a couple of months once i get a new desk. Do you think there will be new cases out buy then?
