Hi,

I've noticed the Fractal Design R3 (black pearl to be specific) isn't very well stocked at various online shops.

Is this because they're currently so popular and cannot produce enough, or are they not making this particular model anymore? Is the R4 coming out or something?

Thanks

They had always been hard to get hold of i wanted one when they first came out but decided against it then out of impulse bought one as a competitor had it in stock, amazing cases and I cant see a R4 being released anytime soon tbh but you never know....

They are back in stock at OcUK, but it was more a general question of whether they're maybe creating an R4 and have stopped producing the R3, or if they're just plain popular.

Judging by the comments, reviews and pictures of rigs i've seen, i would say they're unable to keep up with demand.

Theres no news of an r4 I'm guess since there are no major issues with the r3

Tempted everytime I see these in stock, hoping that there will be a daily deal around April time for my birthday :) £70 would be nice :D

Really like the look of the mini as well but can't justify a new mb

Weird question, but can these actually be operated with the door CLOSED?

I would probably be looking at an overclocked Sandybridge system using an Akasa Venom cooler and a fairly straightforward MSI GTX 460 or even a GTS 450 inside. Overclocked to around 4.6ghz. Basically is the cooling ok without using the fans in front of the door?

Yes, the vents for the front fans are in the sides. Take a look at the case on hundreds of youtube videos.

I had looked at some videos, but hadn't registered that there were vents on the sides for the front fans

Thanks for pointing it out to me. I was going to go for a cheap (but nice looking) Antec 300, but I think I might put this on the want list instead.
