Fractal R3 not overly quiet and running hot

Hi

I have my new bits in my R3 now, however because the system is running hot the fans are quite audible. I have stock 120 fans 1 on rear 1 in front. 560ti Frozr gfx card, Zalman flower cpu cooler.

Please could somebody help me with suggestions for best cooling methods, ie best arrangement and model of quiet fans.

CPU runs at 72-78 at load 2500k
GPU runs at 90-100 at load 560 TI OC

Thanks so much

The most common layout is usually front as intake rear as exhaust, are there any other fan mounts on that case besides those 2 (I think there is room for one on the side panel?).

As for fans, look towards vipers, akasa apache, scythe gentle typhoon and many others I'm sure will get suggested.

Those temps arn't great for an aftermarket cooler (I have no idea what should be expected from the flower?) but I've just gone from a Freezer Pro 13 (similar price range as the flower) and at 4.7ghz on a 2600k I was only hitting around ~72c max, at a lower overclock of 4.4ghz it was only at ~62c max

Those temps are poor.

I've got:

- 2500k @ 4ghz running at ~ 48 on load (with a gelid tranquillo cooler)
- 570 at stock it which rarely exceeds 80
- The same case as you

I bought two more of the Fractal fans (so now have 4 in total); one 120mm for the front and one 140mm placed at top rear. I also took out all of the unused HDD caddies to help airflow.

Is there plenty of space behind the case for the air to escape?

Thanks Guys, I have just ordered 3 Sharkoon Silent Eagle 120mm 1000. Will move those hard drive trays and the cables are fairly ok. there is about 6 inches of space at the back.
I might buy a new CPU cooler if not much has changed

Also, beware of carpet. The fractal psu location has vents underneath that high pile can obstruct, although not your immediate problem since it is your cpu in issue.

Zalman flower cpu cooler is more likely the culprit here but you should be running 2x front intake 1x rear and 1 x top exhaust

Have you tried re-seating the cooler? Maybe you applied too much TIM?

(obviously the wouldt explain the high Gpu temps)
