Hi all,

Looking to upgrade my case from my current H440 - it's missing some bits, temps aren't great and the noise of the fans are unbearable when my 9900k reaches 70+ degrees.

Current specs:

Intel core i9-9900kf
MSI RTX 4070 Ti Gaming X
Corsair h150i Eliite Cappelix RGB. ( I have this on the top of the case )
140mm exhaust fan
3x 120mm intake fans on the front.

I'm thinking of having the AIO on the front of the Fractal case as intake ( thoughts? )
remove the 2x 180 preinstalled front fans and have them on the bottom as 2x intake (Are they good fans? would you recommend replacing them altogether?)
that'll leave me with 3 spare 140mm fans that come with the case - I'll use one as an exhaust and I've got 2x spare fans then I guess....

Thoughts please? I'm after a case that offers solid thermals (H440 isn't that great) whilst also remaining as silent as possible.

Your spot on with cooler and fan positions , personally wouldn't buy any more fans till you've tested with the case fans which should be good enough.

Noise is a balanceing act adjusting fan speed affecting airflow and temps.

I wouldn’t remove the front fans. They’re the best thing of the Torrent.
Any Thermalright Peerless Assassin getting as much cool air as the front can supply will pretty much be on pair with your 360 aio.
I chaise just for looks. Tried with and without and can’t see difference.
If you’re really willing to keep your AIO, the North would be a good call, just make sure there’s room for the AIO on the front and the GPU.
Just checked the size of the GPU and won’t fit.

The Torrent is designed around air cooling. Get yourself a decent tower cooler.
Ive not had an air cooler for the past 10 years - I’ve not long bought my AIO which isn’t ideal but if by selling it will cover the cost for one of the best air coolers on the market I’ll think about it. What air cooler do you recommend for thermals/acoustics?

Thermalright Peerless Assassins, Phantom Spirit or the compact U120EX REV.4. My 7600 (not a hot chip by any chance), PBO and auto OC on, Cinebench all core 5.15GHz all core, maximum temperature was 72C, room temperature of 22.7C. The sidenote, front intake at 40%, bottom intake 30%. CPU fan 50%. Better thermals and acoustics than the NV7 and the EK 360 AIO.

Seconding the Peerless Assassin and Phantom Spirit. The Phantom has an extra heatpipe with a "upgraded" heatpipe design. Though I don't honestly know what that actually means.
