Hi All, Can anybody help please,what is the difference between the Windows xp Fragmentor ,and ones that you buy ie Diskeeper O & C etc ? Do they run on the same principles ? :confused:

They are much better at what they do. Disk keeper is excellent piece of software. But the windows defragger is sufficient tbh..

Edit: unless you wanna pay for software or download a trial. There are a couple of free ones out there though, not sure how good they are. I just run windows defragger once a day. Keep on top of it.

Ok thanks ,i have heard Diskeeper is very good ,but was wondering if like Nortons is it hogs the p.c and slows it down ? or is it a different type of program ?

Most defragging software will hog the system and slow it down as it uses a lot of the CPU. I think in general its more or less the same program give or take a few unique features. I've not tried Nortons Defragger.
