Fragmented text on 27" monitor @ 1440p

Monitor is a Dell U2711, connected via dual link DVI-D @ 1440p. Works fine in 1080p, but when I switch to 1440p I get this:

Any suggestions?

Try adjusting your ClearType settings, though I suspect it's the DVI cable. Switch to DP if possible. If not try another DVI-D cable.

Cable is brand new, shouldn't be a problem. ClearType is fine on my other two monitors. Will DP give me full 1440p?

Did it work previously with same cable/monitor or has something changed?

I'd also be inclined to try with a different cable if you could borrow one easily from somewhere - seen many monitor issues as a result of dodgy cables!

DP will give you full 1440P (I had a U2711 and used Displayport with out issue for that resolution for many years)

I only had an HDMI cable before, never tried it on full res with a DVI until now. Good to know that DP will do the job.

You may find the DVI was single-link, not dual-link and that was the reason.

It was dual link, I specifically requested it at the shop. Probably just a dud cable, but since it only cost me £2 I don't really care.

I've had three U2711s for years, connected with DVI-D or DP. I have seen the same effect as your photo, but only when I tried 2560x1440 over HDMI.
