frame rate estimator?

is there somewhere that, if you enter the details of your graphics cards, processor, etc, it will give you a rough idea of the framerate you will expect for many games.

I doubt it, too many combinations to keep a consistent database together.
Best thing is to look online for benchmark results and then interpolate it yourself

Thered be thousands of thigns needing to be kept updated.
On top of which you then have all the cards that have their fantastic EXTREME EDITIONS +10Mhz factory overclocks. Then all of the settings in each game. Specific drivers are often better for certain games but not for others.

And thats before we get onto CPU and other variables.

Just buy yourself the best card you can afford

They do various benchmarks for some games but not all of them of course, be good if there was a website that did a majority of games with each card but that's a lot of work

If you're on an nvidia card you can use the drop down box to select your GPU here:

Then it will list in game settings and the expected framerate for quite a few popular games.

Unfortunatly there's so many variables we'll never see anything like this. You're best bet is to post on a forum relating to the game to ask what people with a similar setup get.

You could try www.canyourunit.com

It doesnt give you the fps, but it estimates how well your pc will run the game by analysing your specs and comparing them to the minimum and reccomended spec of the game.
