Frankie's in trouble again..

This boils down the quite a philosophical debate if you want it too, which is virtually as hard to answer as asking whether god exists, but if its intended as a joke what exactly does it matter of the content, as almost all jokes were or are offensive at one time or another. The envelope will always be pushed, and the nature of the bar will be reset, but the reason will never change, because its a joke.

He's got a right to joke about whatever he likes, there's no need for moral outrage. There is however also plenty of room for criticizing on it just being a crap joke. There's no wit in there, it's just a lazy stab at being offensive in place of actually constructing a joke. He knows he's built a persona and some people will lap it up and the shock value will ensure publicity.

Anyone here could do it quite easily just choose a couple of subjects that are considered taboo and stick them together in a sentence:

'I wondered why _____ always went out with ______ but then i realised it was because _____ would have been more likely to _____ them.'

Rape
Race
Learning difficulties
Religion
Disability
Deformity

Are good areas to look at, have a go, you never know next year it could e you putting out the stand up DVD.

Watched him on the 3rd was funny I enjoyed it.

As he says, he's a comedian on the stage telling a joke. Its exactly that a joke! Some probably go a bit far but you go in expecting that.

Read a few bits from Mock the week that didnt make it on air...

"Things you wouldnt hear at a christmas party"

"If were all hear whos looking after maddie"

I did lol a bit

magic wee hing was based off some kids T.V. show I watched as a child on I think BBC right? Was likely a book too, I just can't remember the name of it. The 'magic wee hing' in the children show used to borrow in and out of sand and granted wishes / could do magic or something.

Edit found the wiki page about it http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Five_Children_and_It

That was the best bit for me. As for the Jordan joke I didn't think it was in the best of taste but it's only a joke. That said I'm surprised it was allowed by C4 as they've not really allowed anything borderline since Brass Eye.

I cracked up rotten when the magic wee hing came on! Is it sad that I felt little bit sorry for the poor thing when it got pummeld by stones, flattend by a rock and then attacked by a dog lol.

The Roy Chubby Brown of his generation.

Used to find him quite funny, bored now though. The audience sticking with him insisting he's still absolutely hilarious mostly consist of total scum I reckon.

A few sketches on Tramadol nights are quite good though, if only to highlight how morally screwed up the world has become.

Thanks for that! :p

I dont get this bit "the envelope will always be pushed and the nature of the bar will be reset"

are you saying that thats a good thing to keep pushing the ethical boundaries in jokes? Is that whats its about? To see how much you can get away with?

Has he done jokes about Auschwitz yet?

I think his jokes are cheap value but can be entertaining. Im undecided on the whole moral issue of it though.

Jordan says it's discrimination. Discrimination would be not telling jokes about disabled people, making only the able bodied joke worthy.

I thought it was funny, but appreciate that others would find it pushing the boundaries a bit too far.

didnt he just say she looked like the back of a spoon or something?
I think he said she resembled someone who's looking at themselves in the back of a spoon. There was also the comment about how she must be absolutely filthy in bed, considering how good looking her boyfriend is.

I think his new show is fairly weak, some good ideas but as its already been commented he seemed work best in the mock the week 'villain' role.

Tbh it was a bit over the line....i remember a few yrs ago that trashy mag Heat got into trouble for making some stickers about her son Harvey,....personally i feel that bringing her severely disable son and making him the butt of jokes is pretty terrible...by all means rip her to shreds because she deserves the stupid brain dead idiot that she it but making stupid jokes about her son is a bit too much.

As for sympathy??..no i absolutely no sympathy for that perma tanned publicity whore than is Jordan/Katie...and id be surprised if anyone sympathises with her but her son does not deserve that kind of abuse/jokes....sure it was funny but it was in bad taste.
