For some reason Fraps really slows down my gameplay when recording. I've tried changing the settings to the lowest (half-size, 30 fps) and it's still lagging whenever I try recording. I've been trying it on MW2 and it doesn't cause huge lag, but it's still very noticeable. Anybody got any tips?

Specs;

i7 920 @ 2.67GHz
2x Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 5870 1024MB
Corsair XMS3 6GB (3x2GB)
22" monitor (1680x1050)
Win 7 64-bit

Running version 3.0.3.

I have an SSD for my OS, 1 HDD for storage and another HDD for programs and games (including Fraps and MW2). I guess I could try recording onto another HDD, different to my games HDD.

Hmm, just tried it on my other storage disk (not in use by anything else at the time) and it's still happening. It's not exactly lag, it's just really sluggish and slow, I'm not getting skipped frames or anything, just seems really unresponsive, which is obviously not good when playing an FPS.

The recordings come out fine, it's just the gameplay that's really laggy.

It's working now, just changed the fps limit to 60 and it's working pretty much fine. A few spikes here and there but overall it's okay.
