What are the best settings for video file sizes? I am thinking 720p @ 30fps, but even these rack up in size after 10 mins.

Reason is, I have never laughed so much when me and my mates play D3 on hardcore with our untwinked chars. My mate bugged out the other day in the middle of an elite group @ level 11. I was in fits of laughter "PROTECT MY SWEET CHILD, I CAN'T MOVE, PLEASE GOD DON'T LET ME DIE!".

Sort of a 'you have to be there to understand' moment.

Anyway, that brings me onto my next question, when I play D3, I use a gaming headset (USB, which was a mistake in it's self, urgh). I can record their voices and game noises fine, but not mine. What is the best way to do this?

I want the whole conversation between us all.

Thanks

I'd record at that, then use virtuadub and xvid codec or whatever to make it smallerer for uploading.

I guess you could split the recording into 10 minute chunks so that it automatically stops and starts a new recording every time making it easier to manage the files. Using Fraps to record the sound over stereo mix is what you're doing at the moment I would guess as its picking up the game sound and their voices. You could also run a separate recording in Audacity of your voice input line and then overlay this onto the Fraps recording in VirtualDub. Then export the new video in VirtualDub using an XVid export and the file sizes should drop dramatically.

Remember that Fraps records raw data hence why the file sizes are so huge. Using the process above is similar to what the YouTube channellers use I would expect and explains why their videos are split into smaller 10 minute or so sections.

your files will be about 1 gig a minute in fraps

for eg yesterday while i did bf3 i think i recorded about 150gb :p

in fraps you can tick in the sound options to record windows 7 and external input when you press a key ;) make this same as your ts push to talk key job done.

i do add some of my friends raging on my videos sometimes :D

one american i know is very funny but hes not on much now :(

Cool, cheers guys!

Just figured, if an average Joe can upload videos of him doing useless stuff in Minecraft, which I watch, for 40 mins at a time. Surely someone would find 3 very odd Englishmen ranting and raving, running around like little girls on screen trying to stay alive.

We have all played Mages, so a trio of glass cannons. Some of the best multiplayer fun I have had in ages.

"Split up guys to find where we need to go"

10 seconds later...

"OH MY MOTHER OF GOD, IT'S A ELITE MOB GROUP, THE ONES THAT MULTIPLY!!! RUNNNNNNNN" lol

sounds easier tha it is tbh

true anyone can make a video for a game but if you want to really get into it you need to put a lot of time into your stuff.

look forward to seeing your videos in future pop your channel on here when you done some videos

Could try MSI Afterburner for video and audio capture, then reduce it in ‘MS movie maker live’ for download to youtube, which can be done direct from movie maker.
Once you download them to youtube there would really be no need to keep them yourself burning up your disc space, so you can delete them from your pc.
Not sure regards teamspeak on msi but someone may know..

.

i'm not sure which you will find best out of MSI afterburner and FRAPS for video recording, but for compression i like to use Freemake video converter. even with two pass encoding it can convert my ridiculously huge .mjpg's (~250,000kbps) in about twice the length of the video itself
