Anyone else a fan of this pie in a tin? Cooking myself a Steak & Ale one but i have a random question...how many of you actually eat it in the tin or try and scoop it out? :o

Discuss Fray Bentos. ;)

I do have the steak pies from time to time, I do really like them as a back up when I've forgotten to get meat out of the freezer.

Eaten out of tin, with potatoes and some other veg on the side

Eat it in the tin - scooping it out is just not worth thinking about in terms of potential extra cleaning and washing up to do.

I personally don't like them that much. Home made pies for the win:)

I havn't eaten one of these for ages ( Usualy have half )

Steak & Ale is scrummy though :D

Bit unhealthy mind ;)

Never eat in the packaging!!! So neanderthal!! Ha ha!!

;)

I always have veg and pots with pie so need a plate!

Enjoy! I think I had a chicken and mushroom one once and was pleasantly surprised.

BB x

I really do wonder what the conversation went like to come up with these.

Marketing Chap: Right guys, we need something that's going to be appealling to lazy guys and all that. Any ideas?
Marketing Chap 2: Erm, maybe some chocolate endorsed by a footballer?
Marketing Chap 3: Go joint with McDonald's on something?
Marketing Chap 4: PIE IN A TIN.

Ahhh - Goblin meat puddings :)

That is the brand is Goblin, not Gobbling meat puddings, nor puddings made out of goblins (which may not actually exist).

Never tried the Goblin ones, but I'm partial to the odd Fray Bentos. I KNOW they're made with the leftovers and sweepings, but they're just so.....bah I dunno. It's hard to get all the pastry risen without burning the outside though.

TTIUWP tbh.

I don't quite know why I have a picture to hand, but I do for some reason...

I normaly scoop it out and have it with chips and beans and brown sauce. Lovely :D
