I've been doing a fair bit of research lately to find an alternative to SketchUp that is a bit more focused on being able to manipulate 3D models and then generate 2D annotated views of them. I've narrowed my list down to the programs below, and was just wondering if anyone on here had any experience of them...

Creo Elements
FreeCAD
DraftSight
BRL CAD

DraftSight gets my vote.

Then combine it with Blender and you have a good 3D/CAD package that is totally free.

Cheers. Any particular reason you feel it's better than the others? I was actually expecting that to be the least appealing option, as it uses 2D layers rather than true 3D.

I mainly use 3DCAD software for organic work, but every now and then I need to incorporate architectural.

I find it easy to dip back into even if I have not used it for a while.
