free 3d rendering program

Hi,
Need to model and render some molocules and ideally need to do it free,
anyone know some freeware that i can do this on.

Sketchup, now Google Sketchup, if you are looking for a really quick method for reports and such like. Though Blender is the best for fancy renders

I used to use a program called "weblab viewer lite" for 3d rendering of molecules. Google about and you might find it. It does the proper layout when you give it the formula. It will even do you a unit cell.

Blender or PovRay would do it perfect.

IIRC there's also a program that creates molecular structures in Blender (again free), you just say what you want and it draws it.
