I run a sports organisation's accounts using Quickbooks 2008 and have been using Quickbooks for over 10 years. However their new way of working is to make everyone buy a new copy every 2 years at today's prices £240. Without upgrading, the patches and so on disappear after 2 years so the system cannot be reinstalled. I am therefore looking for some other software to do this and wondered if anyone had tried any of the free packages.

The obvious choice is Turbocash but I wondered if there were any other ideas for this - even reports on how well Turbocash works. The accounts only require invoicing - bill paying and cheque printing, and suitable reports etc.

i know its not free (but it is brilliant)

i use kashflow. £15 per month

but it allows you to log on from anywhere and mutiple users can log on

i think its the best thing i have ever found (softwarewise)

and you can try it for 2 months for free
