Hey Guys

It isn't really MY problem, but at work the asset management is horrible.
It is an old MS Access database that is all over the place and it would take forever to do an inventory and re-organize that mess.

So I was wondering if anyone has heard of any nice freebies that I could suggest to my supervisor. As it would make my life a lot easier and theirs too.

A friend in support has mentioned that he would like a nice GUI.
Personally I just don't want to have to enter things in directly to the database as no one created forms for the asset db here.

Just thought I would throw it up in the air to see if anyone has any ideas.

Thanks,

How many machines are you looking at?

Well the asset numbers aren't just for machines, obviously monitors, printers etc. But not including things that have been destroyed/decomissioned the asset numbers are approaching the 2000 mark.

Spiceworks is FOC and has an inventory management section

Checking this out right now, it looks great and even has its own helpdesk.

Going to look into it a bit more and see what we can do about it :)
