Free CCleaner Alternative

For a long time I've used CCleaner and not had a problem, but recently (twice in two months) it's wiped out files from my boot sector. Both hal.dll and ntldr completely gone

Can anyone recommend a free or reasonably cheap alternative?

Personally I prefer CCleaner but those are pretty good too.
