free CSS server

am i right in hearing that CSS servers can be hosted for free?

you can host a server for almost any game technically free. However, you need a good connection to get more than 4 players on a server and paying for that type ofconnection is not free

o i know i can do it that way, just heard that i am able to get a dedicated host for free like a public server

Very much doubt you'll be able to get a public one free.

As someone said you can set one up but it'll need a decent connection.

I doubt there's many places, if any, that would offer a free server, without some sort of catch anyway, and you're usually going to pay £20+ per month just for one, and at that it'll probably not be that good, but depends on what offer you get.

Its possible if a company decides to sponsor your team, but other than that its very unlikely.

I remember i used to book barrysworld and jolt servers about 5 years ago, no idea if you can still do this sort of thing though?

There probably is these days, though those were back when servers were a lot more expensive to run, less people had them, and a lot less people played the games.

Well, with the good internet speeds these days you should be able to, yes.

You'll preferably need a spare computer to run the server software on though.
