Hi,

Can anyone please reccommend or link me a tool that will recover data from a RAID 5 disk array?

It seems all disks were showing as offline and now online are just showing as one large partition rather than the individual ones.

Server is an IBM x346 if that makes any difference using the ServeRAID7K SCSI controller.

Thanks

Recovering raid arrays isnt a straight forward process. Something like http://www.x-ways.net/forensics/index-m.html this might recover it, their free version called winhex may also recovery from raid arrays but I wouldnt put money on it.

How critical is the data? If it's very important, dont mess about with anything and seek some professional advice from a data recovery specialist company.

It's not free, but you could try R-Studio.

So long as it can see the disks you can use it to create a "virtual" RAID5 set from the disks and pull the data back off. I've managed to recover a failed spanned volume and a RAID10 using virtual spans and virtual stripe sets in it. Not tried a RAID5 but the process would be pretty similar.

Well worth the $80 I spent.
