free diary software

hello

I am looking for a software diary to install on my machine which is free. Hopefully it will have the ability to pop up etc on the date, set reminders and tasks.

I know there is one in outlook but that is to much, and dont have outlook.

Is there such a thing available.

rainlendars good, but rather than be a use open and close application. it pins to your desktop. So can do reminders and stuff. Should do what you need.
