free diskspace but its saying disk full

i have 3 drives ,
1. 4 gig left
2. 3.4 gig left
3. 1.2 gig left

when i trying to extract a rar file , it stops and says disk full
even when i free up more space and then try and extract the rar file , it says disk is full , what is the problem?

it goes to about 8% then says disk full
