Indeed. When you can register a .uk domain for 2 years for the cost of a Burger King, it hardly seems worth using a 'free' one...

namecheap.com do domains like .com and .co.uk (they own my blighter.net) for $8.88 (about £5) a year with free whoisguard.

you can host your dns with them and also can host it yourself
