Am after something like Norton Ghost, but that is free.

Normally I wouldnt mind paying for something like this, but it is only going to be a one off, so dont want to be shelling out for a prog when we wont be using it much.

Hmmmm.... looks ok, but I need something really that can do it over a network, however I think perhaps I am expecting a little too much from free software.

I haven't used this myself but it's the only freeware imaging s/w I'm aware of DriveImage XML that approaches being user friendly.

HTH, dagwoood.

This program was recently recommended by one of the high street PC Magazines and the suggestion was made that it was preferable to the back-up/restore CD sold by many pre-built computer firms.

The Mag said one could make continuous images and use them to restore to that point. I assume: install drivers, Operating System - Make IMAGE Disk. Install AV, Office, Graphics - Make IMAGE Disk etc.

Then if every thing falls apart one can use one of the Restore Disks, to restore to any previously restored point, the choice would be yours?

They do not (not surprisingly) give any support for this freeware program.

Does anyone know if one would be limited to one DVD as a restore? Would be allow (What I belive to be) Disk spanning?

Are there any other (free programs) that can do it?
