Free driver scanner and updater?

Is there anything out there that scans your system for out of date drivers - esp. motherboard etc and updates them? Preferably free!

That scans for updated drivers and the like. I use this at work.

This. The manual approach always beats shoddy software solutions.

Intel, AMD and nVidia have facilities through their websites that scan and update drivers so all these driver programs are unnecessary. Windows Update provides the rest.

Wouldn't recommend any 3rd party software. Doesn't take more than a few mines to grab the latest Realtek audio drivers, Intel chipset drivers and ATI drivers from their sites.

I did this and Norton still reports out of date intel chipset drivers? What's gives?

Norton does this? Jesus. This is potentially causing more problems than it solves.

Just stick with Windows Update and go direct for video card drivers etc.
