nice one thx 'eon

not bad for free, but how they gave SC:DA 85% is laughable!! ;p

Glad you like the mag. Apparently the reviewer just really enjoyed DA. Is there anything you disagree with factually in the review? If so, let me know and I'll feed it back to the editor.

Nice mag, shame about the download size and proprietry plugins needed.

I am the main production person at a company called Digital Alternatives, who create flash based digital editions. Swell Music is a relative example inclusing video & audio.

Anyway, sorry about the shameless plug. Im used to our streaming format, which would be much better suited with the video content etc I would have thought.

LOL, I am diametrically opposed. Flash is not a format for emagazines, IMO. I quite like Swell, I've seen it before, but SWF8 video is just not as good. And, I wouldn't call Adobe Reader "proprietary" any more than Flash is, given they're made by the same company.

TBH, I think there's room for all sorts and digital mags are only just in their infancy, so I expect them to change a lot over the next few years.

One thing I don't like about Flash based mags is the fact that you have to wait each time you turn a page for it to download, and then wait to stream embedded media, but I can see some people prefer to get the first page first.

Originally we allowed streaming of our mags, because of course you can do that in PDF, but we ditched it, because the reader experience is better for a mag if they have the whole thing there and ready, in our opinion, rather than having to wait each time. It means an upfront download, but then you have it, and can re-open it when you want.

Anyway, I'm sure there's room for all of us in the market. Good luck with Swell.

Quite a good emag IMO

However in the Xbox360 version it's just wrong to rate Smackdown vs Raw above GoW IMO :p however reviews are subjective I suppose

Yes, the controversy that has caused! ;)

We had one reader claiming it was a mis-carriage of justice, and another who played both (I guess there has to be one person who would play both those games?) saying how we were spot on, because Gears was great, but WWE was as close to perfection in wrestling games, so the scores were right.

Who knows? I've only played Gears myself and I do love it. I probably wouldn;t have bought it if the review hadn't been so sparkling in our own mag, but I'm glad I did. I'm not big on shooters, but this one is a lot of fun and tbh, half of it is about wandering around and enjoying the scenery.
