Free forums to link to from my website: Suggestions?

As per a few previous threads/posts, I have got a website up and running for my father for his business.

I would like to be able to add a nav button to it that will take people browsing it to a forum page where they can leave comments, discuss the quality of servce and give feedback etc.

Any suggestions on what forums to go with?.

I'm thinking something along the lines of Forumwise or something similar?.

if you want a simple forum to do that job then try punbb - it's a doddle to integrate into a site.

after 2 months though we have closed all new signups it because it was being targeted by spammers. Sad fact of interent - unless you've got time to patrol it then you have to accept that someone will register to dump links about viagra or the latest celebrity pr0n video.

It critically depends on the userbase. For your specification, I'd certainly go for a custom forum system as defined and analysed here.

If you can't make your own or this doesn't sound very appealing, then a simple (though still grossly more complex) alternative is PunBB. If your forum gets popular then go IPB, or, if you can't afford it, a clone - MyBB.
