I think the Chicken thing you were thinking of was "Chicken Of The VNC" for accessing your Mac elsewhere.

I personally use CyberDuck and have had no problems. It's frequently updated too.

The Panic Transmit widget is not too bad if you just want basic features

On the other hand, panic is only £17 and works great so if you don't get on with Cyberduck then check it out.

99% of mac FTP clients suck hard.

If you need something more advanced than Cyberduck then check out Yummy FTP (dual-panel, transfer queue etc), but costs like $25 tho.

I believe the beta of FileZilla 3 is for mac also.

I bought Transmit - it works very well and is integrated nicely with Automator. I now have drop box folders on my desktop which automatically rename, resize and upload photos to my photoblog.

Even better that it's free.

I always had problems with cyberduck and sftp, i could never upload a directory full of files, it would upload the directory and just hang...

this happened on many different servers
