Yep, downloaded and the game downloads at about 180kbps so its not too slow especially considering that its 151mb, theirs also Hitman 1, 2 and Thief for free.

best game ever, I'd download it but I have my disk sitting right next to me. EVERYONE should play this game at some point in their life :)

Anyhow..I fished out my old Deus Ex disc last night and tried to play through with the updated renderer + hdtp project. Still didn't get very far before it became too annoying. I'll have to try again though. I *really* want to like the game.
 
Think I still have my copy kicking about somewhere. I played the demo and bought Deus the week it was released.

I have never been so totally immersed in a piece of software, and in the decade that has passed since I completed it I have yet to play a game that equals it.

Play it, complete it, then play it again until you've witnessed all the different conclusions, then contemplate what an amazing time you've had...

INCREDIBLE game.
 
I've got the disc somewhere, downloading this because i'm gonna give it another play through and i can't be bothered to find it. :cool:

I got the game for a few quid years ago but never really played it, seemed similar to system shock which i thought was good but for some reason i just never bothered to give it a proper go, i must have only played it for about an hour, might of been the graphics that added to my lack of interest at the time but if they can be improved then id be happy to complete it.

Looks like the hdtp project is sometime away from a full release, how much does the demo download improve and is it worth getting the renderer as well? Not sure if I should wait or try them now tbh.
 
The graphics didn't horrify me when I was playing, more the slightly odd controls and how you can easily insta-die if you mess up. I hear it gets far better after the first level.
 
Well, the WASD stuff is fine.. It's more the way the mouse movement feels a little odd (due to the skill level effect and/or it being the UT engine, I presume?). Running/crouched speed just feels a little 'off' too.

It's probably just me and to be honest, I really want to just get over it and play through the game because I've always had such a high opinion of it.
