FREE Games

ok, so i was recommended alien swarm on steam the other day as it was free. but when i do a search for games and sort by price, none show up as free. so my question is, how do you find these free games on places like steam, direct2drive greenmangaming etc? and are there any that people recommend?

i also noticed when i log into my steam account some games like America's Army 3, Empires and Half-Life 2: Deathmatch are there, which are games i have never heard of, let alone added to my games list. all may i add say they are free.

ummmm...........that site looks confusing, lots of games listed but couldnt work out how you download/install any, do you need to log in or something?

Trackmania is a fantastic game as a free version on Steam as well

It's just a list of Free games, the links that Xfire provide are a description and usually a link to the game developers website.

(Xfire is an in game chat program that also tracks gaming hours, allows you to join friends in MP games and it takes screenshots and video. It also has the ability to broardcast live what you are playing. Although not all of the features are available for all games.)
