Free gaming video capture software

looking for some free gaming video capture software.
my system is inb my sig, i game at 1440 but don't mind capturing at 1080.

if i have to pay a little i dont mind really, but not wanting to pay loads to grab the od video
the only game i want to use it for is on steam if that matters

Been a while since I've checked but OBS was one of (if not the) standard for recording/streaming.

Lots of settings and whatnot for you play around with to get something you're happy with. There will be plenty of tutorials about it available online as well.

Xbox game bar will capture video easily.

As will Steam.

Nvidia overlay? completely free and very easy to use.. I use it to capture the highlight clips to then do the video for the OCUK VR races..

that was my go too but apparently not any more, you have to install GeForce experience the install just fails now

OBS is superb. Use it for all my steaming & recording. A ton of options available for recording quality and type.
