Hi,

I'm after a free host with capacity from 500MB+. I'd like no banners but Its now essential. I would also like it to have the facility to be able to link to directories (Don't know what this is called), most web hosts don't allow you to link to directories - only actual files. What is this called?

Anyone suggest a good web host for me please?
 
Yeah I think thats the one, if anyone know of a host out there that provides a good amount of webspace, FTP access and directory listing please let me know :D
 
How much bandwidth would you be estimate using? :)

One vital flaw with 110mb is that most of the day the FTP user limit is maxed out, so you have to keep bashing reconnect or use the crude web interface.

Edit: Celerondude's indexer 4tw, for example have a peek at the test I just setup. :)

If you want to enable directory listing on an apache server, create a text file called .htaccess in said directory (note it is dot htaccess) with the line "Options +Indexes"
 
i will give you 500mb of free webspace if you wish.

just tell me in advanced what youll be hosting please and the bandwidth use...

you also get a webmail, ftp and i can provide shell access.

i have a spare 250gb :D
 
Thanks for the help guys. That new host I just signed up to 'ooblez' won't even let me log in via FTP, only their http control panel allows me in. I get the following error:

[22:34:59] 500 I won't open a connection to 81.***.***.*** (only to 195.***.***.***)

I have starred out the actual IP. Any ideas what this means?
