Free hosting/free build websites for temporary website?

So long ago we used to be able to easily build websites with excite (Lycos was it?).

Does anything like that still exist?

A friend asked me about putting up a small website just to detail their house for sale (without a estate agent), and I didn't actually know if free hosting+build was still a thing?

WordPress Free but will include ads.
Free hosting is still a thing but as you can imagine, there are caveats - 000webhost is a popular one.

Otherwise, very cheap webhosting is possible for a few quid a month where you can deploy your own WordPress installation or other site builder. NameCheap is one of the cheapest and somewhat reliable options for hosting.

A .co.uk domain can be had for free for the first year at https://www.lcn.com/ or names.co.uk (the same parent company) but please don't buy hosting from them or leave your payment details attached to the account!

You could build the site on github and point the domain to it. 20i also offer free hosting but it's got limited bandwidth per month and if your hosting pictures it'll eat it up quickly.

I had seen this, and was wondering. It's just for a temporary page for a house sale, so might work. Ads are fine.
