Free iPod Touch in the UK

Just spotted on the US site you can get a free iPod when buying a mac with educational discount. Is this going to happen in the UK?
 
i guess its the standard Apple way, nobody has a clue what is going to happen until it actually does!

Was thinking about buying a mbp in the next few weeks/ month but i may have to wait! lol ever since i decided to switch to mac there seems to be a lot of waiting involved!
 
i would like to know this too,

My sister is ordering herself a macbook and a ipod soon, ready for uni in sept, so would be nice to get the ipod free :)

You don't get it free.. you pay for it, then a few weeks later they'll send you the rebate.

Technically, yes.

However, some users might not have realised that you still have to pay for the iPod at the checkout, then claim the money back

It would be better if they just gave you a free iPod :p

I guess this way, they get the publicity of a new offer with the added bonus of some people not bothering to cash in on the rebate, thus selling more of these ipods that haven't sold well?

They do it because people are so lazy a lot of them won't bother or will forget to claim their rebate :D
 
I know, it's terrible.. they're mooching the money and earning interest on it all the time you wait for your rebate.. this should be made illegal.

Well they aren't legally obliged to give you a free ipod, so I guess it's their terms or just don't ask for the ipod!
