Free Magazine Issue

Hey all,

Just found that most, if not all, "Future Publications" magazines are giving away a free issue in celebration of the release of Newsstand at iOS 5.0!

Just downloaded an issue of "Rhythm" and "Mac Format"

To make it easier to find other magazines, download one of their magazines (Mac Format for example) and press "More from Us" and look for magazines that take your fancy

At least I know what I'm doing tomorrow on the train

Am I the only one not seeing a search function in the Newsstand store?

I randomly wondered onto my Newsstand and opened up Rhythm to check the prices of Digital issues to Physical issues and found the free issue. Then I looked over other Future Magazines and saw the promotion

No search function on the newsstand - but searching the app store will also search for magazines/newspapers. Just download Mac Format and then you can find the other future magazines within that magazine

Just one back issue on each magazine - not sure how long it will last... Maybe it's a permanent thing to intice people to buy it...

Aren't these just 'sample' issues though, ie not the full issue?!

Nope, full issues, they are just not necessarily the current issue.

Thanks for the heads-up Marky, I've just bagged myself a load of Mac, Car and Graphics magazines.

I do think the iPhone screen is a bit small for this but I can definitely see the appeal on an iPad.

Nope they are full issues, most are last months issue.

No probs! Yeah I always wondered what magazine reading would look like on the iPhone and was tempted to buy an issue to find out. I read a bit this morning and it wasn't too bad. Just a lot of zooming and moving around

I can definitely see the appeal to iPads though

OK, well the one I tried "Tap" was a sample issue, e.g. not complete.

I already subscribe to MacFormat and MacUser though.
