hi guys

we have over 50 HP printers on site, is there any free software that i can monitor all printer toner levels within the software?

cheers

Well if they're all HP, then Web JetAdmin is the obvious choice.
I've only ever used it for firmware updates, but it certainly allows monitoring of that sort of information too.

PRTG is free for 30 sensors and that will report toner/paper levels from LaserJets (via SNMP). So close, but you'd have to pay to get enough sensors to cover 50 printers.

little cow, there are too many web interface to check the printer toner levels.

chris- PRTG is looking very good but how to add sensor for the printers?

so far its scanning the wrong range. printers have its own vlan network

I assume from your earlier response, you thought I was telling you to use the individual printer webpages? :D

It would appear that HP canned 32bit support. However 32Bit versions are still kicking around.

I've checked my software Repo and have found an older version with the following filename:
HP_Web_Jetadmin_10.3_-_32_bit_SW_-_build_88120_J6052-10539.exe

Because I can't be bothered to faff around with dropbox and the like, if you whack that filename into google and look for the link from ftp.psu.ac.th - This has exactly the same hash as the version I have.

Manually add a Device by IP from the Devices screen.

Cacti should be able to do this with snmp
You can get a 'threshold' plugin to trigger out an email to suppliers or to you so you can order.

yep thought you meant the individual printer pages :D lol

just installed HP web jetadmin, just perfect for what i need. thanks :)

I've noticed "SmartDeviceMonitor for Admin" provided by Ricoh can do this although I only use this program to extract data from our multifunctional ricohs. As you can see it's showing all our other printers and toner status.
The users in our place replace the toner for me so there's no need to monitor it :D
