Free movie converter???

Hi, have a lot of sample clips that are currently in .MOV format, but need them for some other programmes...does anyone know of a good converter for them that is free? :confused:

Not sure, but ironically I'm after an app to do the opposite:

I need an app that takes snippets of dvd and converts into mov/flv file. Ideas?

Thanks, tho not able to sue (at wrong computer right now), its seem to just list iPod converters?

The program will convert files from format A to format B - you dont need to add to IPod / ITunes, unless you want to.

Either way the new format will still be on your system

That's the general idea, but I don't want to encode the whole dvd each time.
I want the option to convert just a section.

May try encoding whole dvd initially and using QT to edit conversion down.

In handbrake you can choose to copy sections of the dvd, not the whole dvd.

Cheers mate, just wondered..will give it a try when I get home...any idea what format it converts too?
