is anyone on the three network and used msn messenger? They are currently offering this service free if you sign up this month and that could be really useful for me, but the few comments i can find on it suggests it's quite patchy and often it doesn't work.

Also can anyone tell me if 0870 numbers are inclusive in the free minutes ? I'm on O2 currently and can dial internationally using my minutes via a 0870 number which saves me a lot of money.

Sorry dont know about the MSN thing but i do know that 0870 and 0845 On my orange contract are NOT inclusive. I would assume that is the same with 3

yea ive been using msn on 3 for quite a lil while now, its free until november

its been fine for me, there is the odd d/c or cannot login but most of the time it works, good when you're sitting on a bus with nothing to do :)

i dont think 0870 numbers are inclusive

0870 numbers arent inclusive, like you said they are good when u are bored.

you can do it on any network over the internet contract or payg as far as i know. my orange spv500, as a said, has had the feature since day one. i believe it was only network 3 who didnt allow it, now they are advertising the fact that they do.

LOL @ that.

I dont know what the costs are, but on most its whatever the cost of your data is. it doesnt use a lot though.

cause 3 don't allow real internet :p

they do. they now offer full Internet, i get 30mb a month free with my contract and free msn for life.
with 300 mins and 1000texts and £5 free content a month all for only £15 don't think any network can match that tbh.

only thing i would say is the CS is quite poor is get get put through to india.

the MSN app is a proper microsoft one it looks like much better than the one i had on my W800.
and for free it beats all of the free ones as they cost gprs to use

last time i checked it wasn't proper internet, it was just a walled garden.

good to see they've changed their tune

the msn app on my spv (powered by windows mobile) is by microsoft...suprisingly lol. Anyway the best mobile msn client ive used was for s60 nokias, agile messenger i believe it was called. knocked the spots of my spv's messenger.

how much is it going to cost when they start charging? other cliens may well use gprs, but its virtually nothing.

You might have tried to at least ask someone this question - as I have a 3 handset right now and within the past few minutes, I have used Google, my work's webmail, The Register and CNN.com, all external sites - all working. If I type in any URL, it takes me there.

It was about two months ago when 3 removed the restriction on websites accessed through the service. Now its just normal internet access on the handset.

Re: MSN Messenger. For those people that signed up for certain price plans, there was an offer for MSN Messenger for life on Direct VTT 100 and Direct TXT 1400 on certain handsets. If this was said at the point of sale, then you get it free for life. I think for everyone else, its the end of November when they will start charging for it.

it's on the 3 website(it was last months offer) this month it's the same offer but with only 12months @ £15 then the other 6 @ £30 a month.

came with a nokia N70 which isn't bad, can get a N73 for under £200 on ebay if you wanted too.

and the full internet is great on three now, i will say i never liked them before and was not sure about signing up to the contract but when i got it it's been great, you msm is cool(the new smartphones don't come with it installed iirc)
30mb of net for free is good(you can watch some videos on the bbc site and not worry about the cost) check your email for free etc.
i also signed upto the push email which is £2.50 a month saves time checking but not sure if it's worth £2.50 tbh.

all in 3 are a good network now(i get full 3G coverage everywhere i've been so far) unlike on voda where 3g isn't too good around here.

if they still had the walled garden then i don't think i would have signed up tbh.

Just for everyone's info. If you are looking for a little more than 30MB of web access for free, take out the Nokia N73. On upgrades and new contracts, it comes with 512MB of internet access free each month (other handsets are 30MB though).
