Free or Open Source CAD Software

I'm just after a basic free or open source piece of 2D CAD software. Doesn't need to be anything fancy, just need to do some basic designing and scale drawings..

Any one know of any?

Sketchup? The one that springs to mind. Not really CAD in the purest sense but should do the job.

TurboCAD can be bought pretty cheap (around £50) and has excellent functionality (including good AutoCAD compatibility) if you can't quite find what you need.
