Hi all,

I'm going out this weekend some place near South Kensington train station.

I'm not familiar with the area it'll be after 6pm so does anyone know the name of a road or a place I can park for free?

Thanks in advance.

AFTER 6PM

ROAD SOMEWHERE that has paid parking during day... etc.

I've parked free in places like Mayfair before!

If you're going out near the train station, then why not just take the train and leave the car at home? Plus, that way you can have a drink!

I'm a teetotaller mate and I hate the bloody underground full of filth and disgusting people and that's my last option.

Some of the metered parking spaces become free after 6.30pm but that depends on the borough. You may be lucky parking around Berkley square Cadogan place or Belgrave square after that time (about 10/20 mins walk), but the times may have changed since I've used them.

I sometimes park outside Baden Powell House (on Queens Gate Mews), its free after 1.30pm on a Sat and all day Sunday. Never tried to park there at that time in the evening, usually on a Sunday morning and its dead quiet then. Bear in mind its right next to the Natural History Museum so it can get busy later on. p.s its around a 5 minute walk to South Ken from there

thanks mate appreciate that

surely Baden Powell House should be a good option then just be very competitive to actually get a place to park thanks for the inputs

It's been free parking in all of Kensington for the last few Saturdays to help boost shopping, not sure how long that's going on for though:)

Edit: Just checked the RBKC website and that was only for the Saturdays in April:(

I've parked on Onslow Square (I think it's just due south of South Ken tube) a few times from about 1930 onwards. I normally aim for it if I want to park in the area.
However, not sure what it's like closer to 1830.

Having worked in South Ken for many years I have to warn you that the wardens are total Nazi's, so be very careful - I got caught several times and at 80 quid upwards it isn't funny - even when I thought i was parking legally....
It used to be legal in Thurloe Square after 6.00pm, but please be careful...
