Free RTS and Driving game needed

Got a LAN coming up and need to get some free/open source games for driving and RTS.

MechCommander 2 while free does not seem to work with 64bit machines and only decent free driving game I can find is trackmania but thats not a real racing game.

Needs to work with 8 players at least and be lan based and not needing anything on the internet to work

Download the live for speed demo and put it on each one. That has lan play.

Trackmania is quite fun for awhile specially if you build your own circuits...

I think volvo: the game has multiplayer but I think you need an internet connection to make it work.

Theres quite a few games racing and RTS that have demos with working multiplayer as well... starcraft while a bit older the demo has great MP.
