Is there anything thats free that does a good job? Actually, is there any add-on for Nero that might be able to record or load up recordings from tapes so i can clean, de-click and de-hiss and make things sound a bit clearer. got stacks of old rave tapes i need to back up

I too would love to transfer my collection to CD or MP3. The only thing I could come up with is play them back song-by-song and record on the PC using one of the Creative Labs recorders bundled with my sound card. That obviously won't help clean up the hiss, though. Dolby NR for the win!
