Free Software for stitching video files together

I'm looking for some free software to stitch two video files together into one file, does anyone know of any?

I've had a look through the help file and I can't see anything about being able to combine two files

Even easier is is going to MS-DOS prompt

copy /b 1.avi + 2.avi 3.avi

I've been doing it for years - and with MP3's.

What happens with ID3 tags if you do that? In playback is the tag of the first used? Or does it change depending on whereabouts in the track you are?

No idea but you can give it a new tag.
