Free software to extend boot partition?

I used to use the free Easeus Partition Manager to resize partitions but the latest version doesn't include this feature in the free version.

Their mini-partition manager software says it does resizing in the free version but when you try it it tells you to buy a full version.

Does anyone know of any free software to do resizing - or have an old version of PM that does it. I don't want to buy a full version as I only use it once every five years or so when I do a new build.

EDIT. Perhaps the issue is that I have a 503MB Recovery Partition that is between the Boot partition and my unallocated space. Any idea how to fix that - is it safe to delete the recovery partition, I have Macrium ISO Image backups?

For anyone else with a similar issue - here's the fix (only took me 22 hours over 2 days to suss it out . )

The issue was that somewhere along the line I changed the Disk from Basic to Dynamic.

Most free versions of Partition manager software wont touch Dynamic disks - I know I tried every one I could find!!!

But one did - Paragon Partition Manager ;)

The solution
  • Download Paragon
  • Select the Windows SSD
  • Click convert Dynamic to Basic
  • Extend the Partition - most free managers seem to work now its a Basic disk
Job done.
