Free software to recover form USB

So tried to plug in my USB stick this morning to do some work and the PC won't reconise it. I have tried it in my laptop and another PC and is the same story. It knows somehting has been plugged in but won't read it.

In the past I have used get data back but it only found my HDD and not the stick. It has some realy importnat files on there that I only just got from my new job... schemes of work, resources etc (i'm a teacher), hence why it's not backed up. :eek:

So can anyone reccomend me some software to attempt to get them back?

I remember using that in the past for photos, it still doesn't detect the USB drive tho?

have you tried opening the usb stick up to see if the pins have snapped off the board? fixed countless usb sticks that way (solder job takes 2 seconds)

I think i will have to try that, its a pretty new Corsair miniflash voyager one, so is still under warranty. But I doubt they will recover my files if i send it back.
