Free sound effect resource?

Does anyone know of a decent website for free (as in royalty and price), high quality sound effects? Ideally in .wav format. I've been using www.soundsnap.com, but they have started charging now.

www.freesound.org looks decent. Billions of samples licensed under the Creative Commons Sampling License. I haven't used it extensively so I can't comment as to the quality of the samples but there's certainly a lot of stuff there.

I also hate the generic kids laughing sound that is SO over-used.

I think google sound have a "sounds" search... A bit like they do with images.

I have heard sound crossovers in loads of films and some from games to films ><.

So much of the sounds in films are ADR nowadays, it's not surprising... Especially when you get sounds taken from the library....

The most generic, heard sound of all time is the "police radio" chatter, its always the same in every film ever
