Free sync / g-sync these day

hi,

i'm helping out a friend buy her son a Budget black Friday gaming PC. but now i am at the stage of finding a monitor

the prebuilt system would have a RTX 3060 Ti and I was going to couple it with a cheap 144hz 27 2k monitor. maybe this one Acer XV272U 27.

then i thought, this if freesync. what the situation with the freesync Vs G-sync now. would this work here with the Nvidia card being compatible for gaming

These days, Nvidia has G-Sync compatible, basically gets VRR working on most monitors which may not have actual G-sync hardware in them. Basically using standard open source VRR.

That monitor in question you listed does have G-Sync compatible on it: https://www.displayninja.com/acer-xv272u-review/ and other threads confirm G-sync enabled engages fine so will get benefits of VRR.

this is a cheaper option 24GN53A is this G-sync compatible?

or if anyone knows a good 24 inch 144hz G-sync compatible monitor below £200. please let me know below
