Free uninstaller.

Hey guys,

Are there any free uninstaller apps out there? My brother is having a few issues with a rather stubborn installation a se pc suite on his vista machine... and on an old xp machine, he's got problems with avg not wanting to go away

He's done all the usual, app specific uninstallers etc, so as a last resort I suggested that he try a third party app, preferably with out paying for it?

Any suggestions?

Had Perfect Uninstaller recommended to me, but you have to pay for that don't you?

Ccleaner gets rid of a fair amount of random junk, its registry cleaner is pretty ace too.

Might be worth going into safe mode and attempting to uninstall.

I wouldn't recommend safe mode and just deleting folders yet...as that can get a bit dirty

I think he's already tried ccleaner, but afaik, its uninstaller is pretty tame. He wants something a little bit more, 'hardcore.'

For the time being I've recommended him: revo uninstaller, zsoft uninstaller and my uninstaller.

Yeah, that should do it. If Ninjas in your PC can't get rid of it, nothing will. lol.

ccleaner uninstall only runs the applications standard uninstaller, it doesn't do anything else extra on uninstall.

Hmmmm.....this sounds a bit fishy, what is this app that won't uninstall ? Are you sure it's not some form of malware ?

ive removed troublesome apps from add and remove by deleting it from the registry

I also extremely highly recommend this for 32-bit. You could also try the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility.

Oh no nothing at all....apart from get rid of all the random folders and files and a no end of registry keys programs leave behind...

I've tried: Your Uninstaller! Perfect Uninstaller! and Revo Uninstaller. All do the same thing mainly apart from Revo's only let down is that it cannot do 64bit programs as it is a 32bit app.

Nah, both apps are well known (sony ericsson's pc suite and avg), I've sent him all the info! Thanks guys

Told him to start with the windows uninstaller app and then revo.
