Newsdemon are quite good. I've only had a few problems with them, and these were solved within minutes using the 24/7 live tech support chat thing. :)

Select the radio button which is nearer the bottom offerring a test account and fill in the details. You'll most likely have the details within the few minutes afterwards.

Newsdemon has the same site and pricing, so I'm assuming they are owned by the same company.

lol how the hell does this work. Im using newsleecher.

Basically I found a load of part files. Do I select all the part files and download them? It's just some dont seem to download. They just delete themselves from the queue :s

Download Quickpar and install.
When downloading get all the RAR files but always download the file with the PAR2 extension (if there is one).
After downloading double click the PAR2 file and Quickpar will tell you if everything is OK or not.
If not then go and download the first few PAR files and see if Quickpar will repair.
T'is very straightforward.

I have no problem with extracting the files etc.

It's just trying to find them all.

Let's say I have put a music video I have made which is Hi Def on there.

I search "Hi def", I get loads of results back.

How do I know how many parts there are to a file? How come there are different parts? IE tob3z_video_part 1 & tob3z_video_vol1

It's just this part which stumbles me. How can anyone go through the hassle of this when torrents are 1 click downloads. The unlimited speed is great but This "part" stuff just...... I'm lazy

Look for any associated files with either the PAR2 extension or NZB extension.
Download Quickpar and install and double click the PAR2 file and this will show you what files you need.
I use Newsbin but I reckon Newsleecher also loads in NZB files.
If it does then this will put all the files there for you to download.

Another problem you may encounter is that all the files are in any order.
On Newsbin I click on the SUBJECT header at the top and this puts everything in order.

Torrents aren't even on the same planet when you know what you're doing.

I don't think the servers running well... I say this because I just downloaded newsbin and when searching groups I can't find popular ones like I had in newsleecher.

I duno, I'm just not understanding this.

So there are loads of servers around the would called newsgroups. They used to share news between each other but now they share files. There are groups... I guess you could say these are like forums which have a specific topic. In these groups are the files.

So you connect to a server, subscribe to the groups you like (unsigned music, homemade movies, homewbrew games etc) and then everytime you connect it downloads all of the headings of the files. So when you are browsing the group you just see loads and loads of files. You then have to search for all of the parts of the file or the PAR2/NZB file. Clicking these files will download all of the parts?

Keeping those references vague ;) Be careful, don't want the thread closed.
Anything I mentioned in particular? Unsigned music... nope, homemade movies... nope. Homebrew... not really if it's made from scratch like Python homebrew for PSP.

I was just trying to get the point across. :p

USENET from my experience (not official).

I first came across Usenet in 1992 and it was and still is a great place for asking questions (in fact it was the forerunner of forums).
To see a part of Usenet just go to Google homepage type in "usenet" click on the tab called GROUPS and search. You can type anything here and you'll be amazed at the threads you'll see. Usenet is the Groups tab on Google.
However Google carries no files.
In 1992 I first found out how powerful Usenet was when a mate needed help buying fountain pen parts and I found a newsgroup called alt.collecting.pencils-pens (or similar).
For many years I used Usenet to ask all my questions until I found OCUK (but I still use Usenet now and then).

Forward a few years and users realised they could put files on there and the rest is history. (you could find porn pics here at that time but they were in UUE format and you had to decode them. To see a single pic could take upwards of 5 minutes  )
There are 1000's of servers all around the world that collect all the same data so if you upload something to Newshosting servers it will transfer all around the world to other servers.

Easynews is easily the best way to get into Usenet because of the front end in your browser.
I use both Easynews and more recently Newshosting but Newshosting needs experience with a newsreader.

It could be when you download the Headers that they go all over the place like in picture 1 Picture 1

Click on the SUBJECT (marked in RED) and they should all go in order like picture 2 Picture 2

Now look at the files.
If you download the NZB file you can then load it into your newsreader and all the files will be put there for you.
Otherwise count the RAR files and if you look you can see that RAR 28 is smaller than the other 27. This is normally a giveaway that all the files are there because the last one is always smaller. Count them up and make sure all 28 are there and download.

Now lets imagine RAR 15 is missing.
Download the PAR2 file at the top and download.
Also download Quickpar and install. http://www.quickpar.org.uk/Download.htm
Double click the PAR2 file and you will see this - Picture 3
You can see that the RAR 15 is missing and Quickpar is telling you that 4 blocks are needed.
Downloading the first 3 PAR files now makes this magic happen - Picture 4

Actually if only 4 blocks were missing then you only needed PARs +1 & +3. You downloaded 6 blocks.

Personally, I download the entire set of PARs, but then I guess it depends on your net connection.

If you're on a limit then you want to download the least you can.
You can easily waste over 700 meg on some downloads if you download all the PARs for no reason.

You've just taught me something (just seen what it says on the filenames).
Thanks
