can anyone recommend me a basic but good piece of software for editing an .ai or .eps file.
I've tried Inkscape but it won't open the file i have.
I've never used vector images before but...
For more info: i've downloaded a vector image from istockphoto, unzipped it and it gave me an .eps file and an .ai8.ai file. I can open them both in Jasc PSP but it just turns them into Raster layers. I want to resize the image and resizing as a raster isn't giving me good enough quality, so thought i'd try learning a little about vector images. Inkscape says it can open these file formats, but when i try opening or importing it gives me the 'Inkscape failed to open/import this file' line.
