Free video clipping softwre

I used to use freemake to clip my shadow play videos but it's gone to crap so is there any good free basic video editing software i can clip videos into mp4 format ?

For adding multiple videos and making them into one and editing them I use windows movie maker, free and quite simple to use

I was going to suggest Freemake so what has happened to it?

I ended up buying Movavi Suite and never regretted it.

I used it all the time but wanted something a bit more pro so I got my hands on a hacked version of Movavi Suite, fell in love and bought it for around £22 at the time.
Movavi is one of those softwares where if you install the demo then uninstall they give you better offers.

I'm not sure if it does mp4, but I used to use virtualdub many years ago.
