Free video editor needed!

Need to cut up a video file and iMovie won't help at all!

I have tried converting it to different file types using VLC but need to edit the length of the video file.

I have it in .m4v format and .mkv format if that helps! Thanks!

When firing up Logic and you're presented with the templates box, select Music for Picture.
